William Pagán- Pérez

William Pagán Pérez- Has a Bachelor Degree in Music Education- Trombone (2003) and a Brass Instruments Performance Certificate (2006) of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico.

After his undergraduate degree, Mr. William Pagán-Pérez served as a trombone professor (for Kids, teenagers and adults), music theory teacher and students orchestras assistant conductor of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico Preparatory School  from 2004 to December 2007. Also, Mr. Pagán-Pérez was the orchestras conductor, trombone and music theory teacher of the Nemesio R. Canales Youth Orchestras Programs of Puerto Rico (POSJU) of the Musical Art Corporation of the Puerto Rico's Government. In 2002 and 2007, Mr. Pagán Pérez was the assistant director and faculty of the Song and Wind Brass Instruments Seminar, presented in the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and The Inter American University (San Germán Campus.) 

As a bass trombone student, Mr. Pagán-Pérez has been presented as a soloist, chamber music musician and as ensembles musician in the different concerts series of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, like the Family Concert Series that is broadcasted every Sundays on the Allegro 91.3 FM Radios Station. As a Professional Musician, William Pagán-Pérez played the bass trombone with different Puerto Ricans Orchestras and Ensembles, like: Puerto Rico State Concert Band (as substitute musician), The Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra (as an additional musician and substitute), Casal Festival of Puerto Rico Orchestra (as an additional musician), Sinfonietta Orchestra (As substitute), Camerata Philharmonic Orchestra of Puerto Rico (as bass trombonist in the symphonic version). Also, Mr. Pagán-Pérez was the bass trombonist of the Gillermo Figueroa Chamber Orchestra of the Bayamón City for two seasons. Also, Mr. Pagán-Pérez was an extra musician of the Summit Brass (Ensemble) in a concert on Denver (July, 2008).

Mr. Pagán-Pérez was the bass trombonist of many Broadway Shows with the Santa Bernardita Production Company, like: The Sound of Music (2004- 05), The King and I (2006), The Fiddle on the Roof (2007). In chamber music, he played many concert with: University of Puerto Rico Choir, Coro de Nińos de San Juan, Coral Filamónica de San Juan, Programa Educativo de Conoce Tu Orquesta Brass Quintet (PEDCO) and the Borinquen Brass Ensemble. Like trombone student, Mr. Pagán-Pérez participated in many master classes with different trombonist and teachers: Luis Fred (Puerto Rico Symphony Orch.), David Finlayson (New York Philharmonic Orch.), M. Dee Stewart (Indiana University), Jaime Morales, and Larry Zalkind (The Utah Symphony Orch.) Also, he was student of the Youth Symphony Orchestra Festival of the Americas in Puerto Rico (June 2001 and 2002), The College Audition Preparation Workshop of the Indiana University, the Michael Mulcahy Artistic Residency Seminar at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico (2007) and the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute in Denver, CO (2008.)

Mr. Pagán-Pérez undergraduate bass trombone professor was Mr. Luis Fred (trombone professor of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and principal trombone of the Puerto Rico Symphony Orch.), but Mr. Pagán-Pérez took many private lessons with many trombone players and teachers: David Finlayson (New York Philharmonic Orch.), M. Dee Stewart (Indiana University), Jaime Morales, Stephen Norrell (Metropolitan Opera House), Ramón Serra, Miguel Rivera and Rubén Ramírez (musicians of the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra.)

World Premiers that Mr. Pagán-Pérez participated: Roberto Milano's Requiem 9/11 Mass with the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico Concert Band, and the José Daniel Sandín's "Cimetiere Pere Lachaise" concerto for bass trombón and string orchestra (like the soloist bass trombone.) Both in 2002. In 2003, Mr. Juan Carlos Cardonas, Jerry Rivas, Daniel Vega and William Pagán-Pérez founded The Chilling Trombone Ensemble, and taught clinics and conferences in many Puerto Rican High and Middles Schools; also, they played many serious and pops recitals.

Actually, Mr. Pagán-Pérez is a Graduate Student of the University of Utah, in Salt Lake City, Utah. His bass trombone professor is Dr. Donn Schaefer.
